Hey all!
I met Emily in Winston-Salem, North Carolina back in 1988(?). It was after they had played for a small local club--they were still starting out back then and doing the south east local circuits. I was bartending at one of the gay bars there, "Bourbon Street." I saw her walk in the door with about 4 people walking around her. I looked her straight in the eyes and said, "God do you look familiar!" The crowd pushed us apart and not 2 seconds later, I realized who I'd spoken to. I'd been in love with Amy Ray since the day I first laid eyes on her. I ended up buying Emily a beer (she was drinking a Bud from a bottle) later. End of story. I've never been able to meet Amy and 20 years after I first saw her, I still get butterflies...

Tue, November 8, 2005 - 7:42 AMI wish I could say I have but the closest I have come is a seeing them on stage but I would consider you very luckyI have this littlle scenario I like to envision that emily and amy calling me to see if I would like to drop by for an informal get to gether to sit back and drink margaritas and just see where it goes from there......ahhhh fantasies. -

Fri, January 20, 2006 - 1:20 PMThe closest I got to Amy was seeing IG perform at The Knitting Factory in LA a few years ago. I was RIGHT under Amy and she looked straight down into my eyes while she sang the "Are you on fire?" line during Kid Fears.

Sun, October 29, 2006 - 4:35 PMAlrighty...bout to make an ass out of myself. But, the station I was working for in New York did an interview with them and I barged into the green room where they were getting ready and confessed my undying love for them and their music. Told them just how much they meant to me...how their lyrics spoke words to thousands and I couldn't thank them enough. They were incredibly gracious and so completely nice to this little short haired freak that couldn't stop blubbering about them. Amy asked if I would like to sit down next to her and I of course did, and then I proceeded to touch her guitar. They let me take a few pics with them and then they sang a few songs. I got into complete trouble at work. Oh My. But, totally worth it. They were so amazing. I'd do it again in a heart beat.

Sat, January 6, 2007 - 8:05 AMone time, i was invited to a private concert put on by them...afterward they had each person invited come and take a picture with them w/ a polaroid camera.....somehow i didn't get a photo taken, so instead, when they went to take VIP photos of just the Sony people and the I Girls, i snuck in and put my arm around one of them for the picture....so i'm probably up on an office wall with on eof them somewhere ---lame huh?
