Hi Everyone!
I just wanted to tell you all about this upcoming show – GIRLYMAN with special guests Lindsay Mac and Jules Piper!!
If you haven't heard of Girlyman yet, just wait, because you will! They are incredible! They toured this past fall opening for the Indigo Girls, and are going on tour with them again this summer.
Imagine if the Indigo Girls got together with Paul Simon and created Peter, Paul & Mary - only sexier, and with a quirky sense of humor.
Now, with that creative, gender-confused nostalgia in mind, get ready for Doris Muramatsu, Ty Greenstein, and Nate Borofsky - long-time musicians and friends who found themselves making beautiful music together in their shared Brooklyn apartment.
Together, the three members of Girlyman create a rich, poignant, playful sound that crosses genres and genders.
Girlyman's harmony-driven style veers from urban folk to country rock to calypso doo-wop, and the songwriters effortlessly switch off lead vocals and play a range of instruments. Writes the Hartford Courant, "Girlyman is an infectious combination of rock music, folk songs, classical roots, punk sensibilities and just plain fun."
Cellist and singer-songwriter Lindsay Mac offers a fresh look at acoustic music by combining folk/pop structure with plucked and bowed cello. Lindsay has recently opened for k.d. lang and is now touring in support of her debut album, "Small Revolution".
Boston native Jules Piper has shared the CDGLCC music series stage with Pamela Means, Adrianne and local favorite Paddy Kilrain. Jules is currently living in NYC and working on her debut solo album.
